Pippa Hodge Clinic

CTRA will host a two day workshop with Pippa Hodge. This will include lots of hands-on work with several riders with various and diverse challenges. Pippa will provide information on assessing riders and developing achievable goals, demonstrations of suitable warm-up exercises, problem-solving and questions periods. Practical sessions will include clinic participants working with riders and will be open to Therapeutic Riding Instructors and Physical therapists with an interest in equine assisted therapy. If space permits, we will accept volunteers and other interested parties.

Registration:

Space is limited to 20 Full time participants and 5 one day participants.

Full registration – 2 days, lunches/snacks included: $200

One day registration – lunch/snacks included: $140

About Pippa Hodge:
Pippa Hodge is a Physiotherapist with a long history in therapeutic riding and hippotherapy. She has a diploma in Physiotherapy from the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation in Canada. Pippa is a BHSAI, with a specialty in Hippotherapy, N.D.T. trained and a CanTRA Coach/Examiner. She is on the CanTRA Medical Committee, President of Hippotherapy Canada and a founding member of the American Hippotherapy Association.
Pippa attended the course in Wilbad, Germany in 1987 and she helped develop the AHA curriculum and manuals. She has been involved in horses and pony club since childhood and currently owns two American Bashkir Curly horses. Pippa was a founding member of Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association in
Langley, BC (since 1983) and runs a Hippotherapy program for children and adults.
Pippa has lectured in Hippotherapy and therapeutic riding courses in Canada, U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. She was a first prize winner at the second Festivale du Film Handi Cheval in France with her video “Analysis of horse and human movement” in 1997. Pippa passed the Hippotherapy Clinical Specialty exam in 2006. Currently at VTEA working with her Hippotherapy program, Pippa resides in Pemberton and continues to offer her wealth of knowledge to Therapeutic Riding providers and in her local community.
