What is it? Higgy's On The Track is hosting a 9 Hour Motorcycle Endurance Event to raise money for local charities.
How does it work? Riders will do laps around the motorsport circuit for 9 hours non-stop, raising funds for every lap they complete. The format will be 15 teams, with each team consisting of three riders and one motorcycle to share between them. The 15 teams start accumulating laps at 9AM and ride until 6PM when all teams finish their final lap.
Per Lap Donations! Normally, people make a lump sum donation to a Charity, and we accept those as well! But to add an element of fun to the event, donations are possible (in fact, encouraged) to be made via sponsoring a team on a per lap basis: the more laps the team completes, the more money they raise for the charities. CTRA is one of the honoured charities!

The Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association has been providing therapeutic riding and equine-based therapeutic services for persons with disabilities in our community for over 37 years! We are pleased to add a new EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) program to our therapeutic line-up. Our dynamic programs welcome many riders, participants and volunteers each week to share a love of horses, a commitment to inclusive communities, and a belief in human potential. We attract individuals and groups to our programs from throughout the Cowichan Valley and across southern and central Vancouver Island. CTRA is not only a life-changing program for persons with disabilities, but also a dynamic community space that enhances many lives.
CTRA’s Ride-a-thon is an opportunity for the people who benefit from our program to help CTRA raise the critical funding needed to support our herd of 10 therapy horses. For our participants, this event is particularly important as they can directly connect with their supporters and tell them personally what the programs mean to them.
It’s a big deal!
Those who are able, take part in this very special ride during the final week of our Spring 2 Term of riding. This year Ride-a-thon pledge raisers will receive a commemorative ball cap. Ride-a-thon week is June 17-22nd, with a big celebration picnic on June 22nd to recognize and celebrate our participants, volunteers, supporters, and friends!
2024 Annual Celebration Picnic on Saturday, June 22nd from 1 to 3 pm at the CTRA facility at Providence Farm.
Everyone is invited! Come and see what CTRA is all about and share in the fun!
